Papa Roach's Newest CD "Metamorphosis" Is A Must Have!
I have personally been not so patiently been waiting for Papa Roach's release of their newest album: Metamorphosis. When I heard the release date was being pushed back I really was chomping at the bit. I was glad they gave us a little to chew on with Lifeline and Hollywood Whore. So, when it hit shelves on March 24th I was ready!
I heard a lot of talk that this would be a new and different Papa Roach just because of the album title. First I would like to say, why make that assumption? Therefore I have already heard negative feedback because their style hasn't changed enough. Well, let me say: Why change what doesn't need fixing? AC/DC is a perfect model for this. They are concise, they are brilliant, they are rock and roll. Yes, experiment with your artistic abilities but don't forget your roots and especially your fans and why they love you. With that being said here is my review of Papa Roach's album: Metamorphosis.
This is a music lovers CD, yes I said it...you love music, you love Papa Roach. They have just enough mainstream songs here and there to grab the attention of the pop crowd but, they have enough punk, heavy metal and rock to sate those crowds as well.
I was very drawn to Carry Me where Jacoby croons "I question my own existence..."
I think the guitar riffs on Change or Die are amazing and the whole song is intoxicating. This is the Papa Roach I love!
Lets not forget that Papa Roach are dirty rocker men and they prove it in "I Almost Told You That I Love You"
I have to give them props for speaking out against violence in "Had Enough" Jacoby sings: "I know you can change the future" that is the truth and more people need to take hold of that truth and run with it.
This CD is an all around success. It screams Rock and Fucking Roll. If that is what you want then go and buy it now. No downloading one MP3...you need it ALL!
They are also currently on tour. Catch them! I saw them last year at Cruefest. They engage the crowd and are full of energy. Jacoby literally jumped in the crowd running up and down the aisles. I think he scared the hell out of DJ Ashba, who I happened to be talking to at the time, when he ran up behind him still singing and jumped on him! Also, Tony Palermo played drums for Papa Roach and Sixx AM...not an easy task playing for two bands back to back.
