The Animals, Yes and more R N R Hall of Famers

When I think of the Animals, the first song that comes to my mind is of course, House of the Rising Sun. It's one of those songs that is classic and you can't help but love. You were thinking that I was thinking of Animal from the Muppets weren't you??   Ah-ha!!  Not that particular animal my friends...  In 1965, the BAND the Animals sadly were forced to cancel their show at the Apollo Theater in New York when the US Immigration Department made them leave the venue.  The Ed Sullivan Show would be their only appearance in New York.

In 1984, the number one song on Blillboard's Hot 100 that would reach #28 in the UK was Owner of A Lonely Heart by Yes.  This would be the bands only Top Ten hit.  One of my childhood memeories involving this song was when we were in Denver, CO and went to a laser light show where they used this song in the show.  It was amazing and I can still in my minds eye see the broken heart done in laser...it was pretty darn cool.

And finally, our look at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame continues with the inductees from 1987.  The Coasters, Eddie Cochran, Bo Diddley, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Bill Haley, B.B. King, Clyde McPhatter, Ricky Nelson (father of Gunner and Matthew of the Band Nelson), Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Smokey Robison, Muddy Waters, Hank Williams and Jackie Wilson were inducted into the Hall.
