Talk show for "metalheads"

That Metal Show

VH1 Classic has finally decided that us "metalheads" deserve a talk show of our own. And who better to be the host then a walking encyclopedia of hard rock/heavy metal, Eddie Trunk. Eddie isnt alone in this seat, along side him are two very entertaining comedians and fellow metal fans, Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson. What Eddie brings to the show in trivial knowledge, Jim and Don bring laughs. The three of these men together make the show seem less like an interview with bland repeated questions and more like 'out for a beer' talk with whomever the guest happens to be.

The 30 minute long episodes are packed full of music tidbits, as well as audience participation, Jim and Don even go to the street to include rock fans, at times. Stump the Trunk is a segment where the audience is given the chance to win undisclosed musical items by asking Eddie a trivia question. The show promises to be full of entertainment with lots to see and possibly even learn about. However, what you won't see are music videos.

Many of you already know who Eddie Trunk is, but for those of you who dont, he is a lifelong fan of hard rock/heavy metal. He has dedicated his life to furthering his career in music, and has been quite succesful at it. In 1976, he was introduced to a record by a band called Kiss, and his obsession began from there. Eddie spent his senior year of high school writing record reviews for the school paper and even worked for the local college radio station. After high school, the lifelong resident of New Jersey, worked for the local record shop, across the street from his favorite NJ radio station. It was there that he got to know many of the station's disc jockeys and even some of the management. When they would come in to the shop Eddie would tip off the program director to bands he thought they should be playing, earning him the title of resident metalhead of the record shop. After being ignored by the program director, Eddie sought out a pirate radio station, illegally broadcasting out of someone's basement. In 1986, Eddie was offered a job working for Megaforce Records, one time home of Anthrax, Metallica, Overkill and Eddie's good friend Ace Frehley. He then went on to become the Vice President of the label by age 25. As the years passed, Eddie continues to prusue his love of music and has become a staple to VH1/VH1 Classic, as well as XM satellite radio's Boneyard. He was even honored by the legendary band, Judas Priest in 2008, for 25 years in hard rock/ heavy metal radio.
