December 2008, From the other side - of the Atlantic ocean!
It's not all about IKEA and meatballs anymore!
Hey there. I’m Tess, and as you might have figured already, I’m from Sweden. Sorry to say, I’m not blonde or called Inga, but hopefully you’ll stay with me anyway.
That is what Sweden is known for. Tall, beautiful blonde women, snow, meatballs, IKEA and ABBA.
I’m here to show you apart from that, we also have a bunch of great bands.
When I was growing up, almost every band I liked was from the US, and I was so jealous I wasn’t living there. Today, things have changed, and Swedish bands are back on the agenda, and it’s growing, FAST.
The first band I’d like to tell you all a bit about is four guys I hold very close to my heart - Innocent Rosie.
They bring rock to another level, and a few samples from their highly awaited first album, “Bad habit romance” is getting great response at their MySpace.
Even though they haven’t even released the album yet, they have already played abroad on various occasions, and they have, not once, but twice, played at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles for Cruefest Hollywood.
I’ve been lucky enough to see them live myself, and on stage they’re a bundle of energy, the audience loves them, and they appear to love what they do. The minute they came on and started playing Knock Me Out, it was like the club exploded, even though it was fairly small.
Their video, “Knock me out” has gotten amazing feedback since day one, and was top rated on Swedish MySpace TV.
Up until recently, the band had 5 members, but surprisingly to all the fans, Skid La’Russo, the lead guitar player decided to quit the band. The band now consists of Oscar Kaleva’s vocals, Ben Boräng’s drums, Joey Eliasson on guitars and Olof Oljelund on bass, and, trust me, they’ll make Bad Habit Romance a must-have!
Make sure to check them out at www.myspace.com/innocentrosie
