This Day In Rock

Hello friends and welcome to another edition of This Day In Rock. It is Monday I hope you enjoyed your weekend cause now it is time to get back to work. Lets take that walk down musical memory lane.

On this day in 1956 "Heartbreak Hotel" by Elvis Presley would begin a four month stay on the Billboard charts. Eight weeks of that would be spent at #1.

in 1958 Cashbox magazine proclaimed "Get A Job" by The Silhouettes to be the #1 song in the land.

On This day in 1975 "Pick Up The Pieces" By The Average White Band was #1.

On this day in 1977 the song "Car Wash" By Rose Royce goes Platinum.

On this day in 1989 People thought the Grammy Awards were taking a step in the right direction by adding a Heavy Metal Category. The award that year was given to Jethro Tull amongst many Boos from the crowd proving that the Grammys do not need to hand out an award for something they know nothing about.

Well friends thats all for today. Until tomorrow...

PEACE!!!
