Hello friends and welcome to This Day In Rock. I hope you had a safe and relaxing holiday weekend. Lets take that walk down musical memory lane.

On this day in 1971 Elvis Presley is given the Bing Crosby Award By the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

On this day in 1972 Neil Young & Carrie Snodgrass (actress) Give birth to a baby boy whom they name Zeke.

In 1973 The Allman Brothers only #1 album "Brothers And Sisters" hits the top of the charts where it will remain for five weeks.

Also in 1973 The song "Lets Get It On" By Marvin Gaye hits #1 as his second hit.



Fast Forward to 1988. Sir Elton John earns $6.2 million dollars by selling all of his stage costumes at an auction.
