Chickenfoot stopped by Houston for their debut tour!

Chickenfoot Concert Review 9-16-09

What happens when you put Sammy Hagar, Chad Smith, Michael Anthony, and Joe Satriani together? Well you get the supergroup known as CHICKENFOOT. Chickenfoot is on their US tour right now and came to Houston and I was lucky enough to check them out.

Set List:

  • Avenida Revolution
  • Sexy Little Thing
  • Soap On A Rope
  • My Kinda Girl
  • Down The Drain
  • Bitten By The Wolf
  • Oh Yeah
  • Learning To Fall
  • Get It Up
  • Turnin Left
  • Future In The Past
  • Bad Motor Soccer
  • My Generation

I must say that this band has to be the most energetic band I've seen live! Sammy Hagar sounds on key all the time, Joe Satriani shreds the hell out of his guitar, Michael Anthony keeps the bass bumping, and Chad Smith hammers the hell out of the drums while throwing drum sticks left and right into the crowd through out the whole show. Before I get into the show I want to say that if you go check out Chickenfoot GET THERE EARLY for Davy Knowls and The Back Door Slam, They're amazing!

The band came out at 9:15 PM and played until 11PM which is an Hour and 45 Minute set. They came out like an ordinary band, no intro song or anything like that. They didn't bull shit around the whole night they just played Rock n Roll and they played it amazing. They play the whole album besides "Runnin' Out" and threw in two cover songs "Bad Motor Soccer" and "My Generation." Sammy Hagar if probably the most animated guy I've ever seen on stage and he was very interactive with the crowd and the band. Every song was played like on the album but they all ended with an intense jam in the middle or at the end of the songs.

If I could relive a concert it would definately be Chickenfoot for they are by far the tightest band I've ever seen perform on a stage. Highlight songs of the night were "Down The Drain", "Turnin Left", and "Get It Up." If you like to get memorabilia from your shows this is the band to see since there's guitar picks, tambourines, and drum sticks tossed left and right. Theres not alot to say about this show but that everything was perfect!
