Welcome back Friends! the summer is flying by so quickly, I hope you are enjoying yours. Lets get down to business and take that walk down musical memory lane.

In 1954 a nineteen year old Elvis Presley opens for Slim Whitman. Elvis is is overcome in disbelief by the enthusiastic reaction of the audience.

In 1968 The Apple Boutique which was run by The Beatles went out of business.It was only open for seven months.

Andy Gibb hit the top of the charts and remained there for three weeks with "I Just Wanna Be Your Everything"in 1977.


 

"Roll With It" by Steve Winwood was #1 on this day in 1988.

In 2003 Over 400,000 fans saw The Rolling Stones give a open air concert in Toronto, Canada. The event was held to show the world that Toronto was a safe city to visit, following an outbreak of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) earlier in the year. Also appearing on the show were AC / DC, The Guess Who, Rush and many more.
