stay with me

By   Tue, Jan 06, 2009

okay so today i went looking for a cd i havent listened to in a while. well once again i discover it is one of the many that were stolen from me from {{to quote the Waterbury, CT police detective}} "a career criminal crack head". there was well over 2000 of them his heist, and those are just the ones i could remeber when pressed to write down a list of missing items. now i cant be the ONLY person out there that has cds(or other collectibles) that are IMPORTANT to them yet they cant give you an exact rundown when pressured, esp after the stress and shock of discovering the violation itself. most of what was taken {{music wise only}} were demos, bootlegs, rarities and promos. some..alot ..of which were autographed even. back to quoting my awesome detective.."i could just replace them used for a few bucks" when i had put a REASONABLE price of atleast $10-15 per disc. sure you can pick up a disc at a pawn shop for $1..however it will of been more then likely once used as a hockey puck. where as mine were mint or damn near mint..OCD can help maintain that condition.

anyhow this happened a few yrs back, and YES i still run across stuff nearly weekly that i will think of or be reminded of that i no longer am the owner of, thanx to someone's crack fix. but i guess i should be a GOOD person and just be happy that more than $40K in personal belongings (mine and my husband's life long collections of things we busted ass to EARN) were making some "less fortunate" person happy...if only for  however long his high lasted. before i move along in my blog..i will tell you that we did luck out and find around 400 of our cds and some tools as well as a few collectibles..err..excuse me "toys" as Mr Detective kept saying, at a pawn shop not even 5 miles down the road...i said WE..not as in the cops..but as iin Jim and myself. and let me tell you THAT was fun trying to get the cops to get our stuff back. to this day im sure that slime..err..fine gentlemen running the shop had ALL of our belongings somewhere in the back.

so my point to THIS blog today...i have been hunting online for a friend of mine for sometime now, we lost touch after one of my many moves. well last night i lucked out and we got in touch. i was soo happy...it had been a long time. i was glad to hear the news of whats new! this is what sent me on a hunt for a certain cd..even thought i have all the songs in my head, i really wasnted to put the disc in and really hear itthe way it was meant to be heard...not my inner voices singing it..lol well after an hr of hunting i came up empty handed and quite annoyed. i have it on cassette, and dont get me wrong I LOVE TAPES, however i have NOTHING that plays tapes hooked up..and to get it hooked up i dont have the 'this and thats" needed. so i can sit here and STARE at the tape and read the liner notes and caress the cover...and YES i do wierd things like that...i realize i can solve all of those above issues by having an ipod or wtfever brand you feel like pushing..and i do have one..an RCA, for like 4 yrs now..but there is something about being able to HOLD the music in my hands that i enjoy. however i cant even find anything on Myspace that i can ad to my page. argh...i will survive..but i just thought id vent..lol i did go and place a bid on ebay though for the cd..it was cheap and i hope to gawd it is in the decent shape they claim it to be.

well atleast i only have to wait till Jan 23 09 till there is NEW music from the band of the cd i was hunting for..
