Judas Priest/Whitesnake Review 7-24-09
Judas Priest played the Verizon Wireless Theater here in Houston and they brought friends....WHITESNAKE
Possibly one of the best shows I've seen in a while,Judas Priest Rocked the house dressed in RETRO British Steel Attire and Played the whole album plus some more. Whitesnake played a good hour set which I think they were the better band to me.
Whitesnake played about an hour and 15 minutes and then Priest played an Hour and a Half. This tour stop didn't feature band POP EVIL like most stops have had on this tour which was a relief for me because I dislike them alot.
Whitesnake came out and started off with a song from their newest album "Good To Be Bad" the song being "Best Years" which rocked the fucking house down! Coverdales vocals are spot on despite the rumors of him lip synching but you could tell he wasn't. Then into "Bad Boys" from the classic 1987 Self Titled album. The set contained hits, new songs, and some older Whitesnake that not alot of people may not know. They had a Ten Minute Guitar Duel between Rob Beach and Doug Aldrich which was none less than spectacular! Drummer Chris Fraizer also had a small solo in between "Crying In The Rain" which is another Classic Whitesnake Song. They wound up ending the set with 1o songs and the encore being the typical "Still Of The Night"

from British Steel Era.... They started the set off with the British Steel album in its entirety,This seems like a trend for the summer tours now. This album is really damn good and it came out good live thirty years later. Rob Halford sounded pretty good for the most part but not really a crowd interacter, he mostly just stared at the ground or squinted his eyes. British Steel includes the hits "Breaking The Law, "Living After Midnight", and "Metal Gods".
After That they played some hits but also some RARE songs from a long time ago. "You've Got Another Thing Comin'","Victim of Changes" and "Prophecy" which is a song from their latest album "Nostradomus" just to name a few. Priest played 16 songs and the set is pretty much the same each night.

This show is a definate go see! Whitesnake doesn't come around the USA alot so I would say go see them now while they're out! Judas Priest was also good and you don't see them alot either even though they've been touring a shit load since the new album came out.
