Aerosmith/ZZ Top Concert Review 7-17-09

This was my 2nd time seeing Aerosmith and 1st time seeing ZZ TOP.

 

ZZ Top came on at about 7:30 and played for only an hour, Their set was filled with the mtv video hits and maybe one or two not so known songs. They were good,not really too much of a stage show so if you don't like bands who just stand there you won't like this. This is ZZ Top homeland so the show was packed from the start of their set but judging from other shows not alot of people are skipping them but I say if you like them GO see them.

At 9:30 exact the lights turned out and the curtain with AEROSMITH on the front in their signature font dropped and the band came out with "Eat The Rich". Since Tom Hamilton is out for the rest of the tour due to his throat cancer came back and he had to get more surgery done to it. David Hull who stood in for Tom on Majority of show for the Route of All Evil tour was asked to come in again for the rest of this tour. He did a good job and we all wish Tom a speedy recovery. Steven Tyler was on top of his game tonight and so was the rest of the band. Though during some songs he would pull back from the mic and mouth the words maybe due to a rumor that his voice was shot from the Atlanta show. Steven still pulled through and kicked major ASS. Joe Perry got to sing a song during the night too and that song was "Combination". He shouldn't sing lol though he can sure kick ass on the guitar and so can Brad Whitford. Joey Kramer is nothing less than spectacular every time I've seen them live.
